Sharron's Blog: Divine Appointments: The Steps Of A Good Man [or Woman]

 Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Today, on this Tuesday morning I wanted to share how God is on the move, going before us and sometimes I just stand in awe as I see these little things and know through them, He also has the big things in our lives.

As I was taking my morning prayer walk around my subdivision... I walk and talk with the Lord at mornings first light. I usually take my two dogs out on the first half down two cul-de-sacs and then walk the other half alone, just me and the Lord, walking, talking, praying for what or whomever the Holy Spirit leads me to intercede for.  This morning as I approached the subdivision's entrance, my turning around place, I was praying for the children catching the bus during my walk [high schoolers] and families that are believers, to be the salt and light to those who do not know Him, I was turning to start my walk back to my house when an elderly lady [mind you, I am also elderly... at 74 but this lady was my elder...88!] came out to her mailbox and this was the first time I had seen anyone at this first house at Vernon View subdivision.   I stopped and began talking with her, and told her if she saw me walking, to know I was doing prayer walks daily with the Lord and praying for children and families in our neighborhood. This made her very happy, and as we began to converse, I found out she was the first house built in our subdivision, has lived there twenty- five years, was also a widow of eight years, has a son who is a judge in Villa Rica and takes care of her. She described herself as Ms Gabby as she likes to talk. What is sad is she was not friends with any of her neighbors but was such a sweet lady and friendly.

She removed her mail from the mailbox and before I knew her name she complained at our postman putting mail in her box that was not hers..." what is wrong with our mail carriers, giving me other people's mail, like this one... Sharron Wright.  I was shocked and took the piece of mail from her and officially introduced myself as the owner of that piece of mail!  I told her to keep it to help her remember my name, told her of a bible study we have at our house Wednesday evening and invited her to join us. I discovered her name was Jackie and she said: you can remember that because I'm very Yackie, I love to talk!   Since my late husband's name was Jack, I told her I'd remember her name. She told me she is a believer and I had the privilege of praying for her.

Now that was a divine appointment that I am in awe of, how God has a way of putting His signature on things if we will search for that signature!  What are the chances of me walking by that lady as she is getting yesterday's mail, and my mail, the first thing on top of her pile, as I got to her mailbox, hearing her complaint at my mail delivered to her in error!   Also, there was a young high school girl, Abby, who missed her bus and this sweet little lady offered to take her to school, and I was given the chance to pray with them both this morning. If we search for HIM with all our hearts, we will find HIM and these divine appointments and encounters every day. I never know what I'll encounter on these walks but with God going before me, everyday I live in expectation and anticipate the prayers I petition before the throne being answered daily.

Try taking walks with the Lord, trust me, you will find it becomes refreshing, and exciting as you see His presence in divine encounters every day!  God bless you.
