Sharron's Blog: EVEN SO COME, Lord Jesus

Today while listening to this song, it reminded me of my wedding day, Saturday, May 13th, 1978. I was ready to walk down the isle with my father who had not arrived yet, along with my mother and family, and since my family lived in Tampa, Florida, they were lost on interstate 285. There were no cell phones at this time so they had to call the pastor while my groom, Jack Wright was standing at the alter, waiting, for his bride who was also waiting anxiously for him. But because our whole family had not arrived to complete the wedding celebration, we both stood, watching, waiting, wondering, hoping that at any moment the late arrivals would appear and we could celebration this occasion together as husband and wife with our complete family.
Finally my missing family arrived and this bride began to walk down the isle, on my Father's arm for this much anticipated moment. My soon to be husband, had tears of joy running down his face as he finally got to see his bride, ready, waiting for her groom... who was waiting for her! The joy on his face, as my Father handed me over to him was apparent to everyone there witnessing this wonderful occasion. This is what I feel is taking place right now, today... our groom is there waiting on his Father, for his bride, to be joined together with him... but waiting for our entire family to arrive, to complete this wonderful, soon to take place, wedding to Jesus, the Christ, son of the living God.
Soon the marriage supper of the Lamb will take place, our family circle almost complete. Get yourselves ready, brides of Christ! It's about to happen! Are you really, really ready? Spend time with him and he will let you know. Here are the lyrics of the song that gave me this inspiration.
Scriptures (I thought about)
Isaiah 61:10 NKJV — I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 62:5 NKJV — For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.
EVEN SO COME
All of creation
All of the earth
Make straight a highway
A path for the Lord
Jesus is coming soon
Call back the sinner
Wake up the saint
Let every nation
Shout of Your fame
Jesus is coming soon
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We'll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
There will be justice
All will be new
Your name forever
Faithful and true
Jesus is coming soon
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We'll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
So we wait
We wait for You
God we wait
You're coming soon
So we wait
We wait for You
God we wait
You're coming soon
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We'll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We'll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
