 Harvest Time! (July 10, 2021)

Since Sunday, July the 4th, I have been house/pet sitting for my daughter Christina and husband Dan while on vacation. While out walking the dogs several times a day, I would pass by a very prolific blueberry bush that was planted here from the previous owners. Christina has harvested blueberries from this prolific bush since she's lived here. While walking the dogs daily, I would always go to that blueberry bush and often times just grabbed a handful of fresh blueberries... I'd eat them right off the bush as God and I walked early in the mornings and visited together... like this hymn's lyrics:

I Come to the Garden Alone:

1 I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses, (and blueberries!)

And the voice I hear falling on my ear,

The Son of God discloses

Chorus:

And He walks with me and He talks with me,

And He tells me I am his own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other has ever known

2.He speaks, and the sound of his voice is so sweet

The birds hush their singing,

And the melody that He gives to me

Within my heart is ringing.

And He walks with me and He talks with me,

And He tells me I am his own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other has ever known

3 I stay in the garden with Him,

Though the night around me is falling.

But He bids me go; through the voice of woe

His voice to me is calling.

And He walks with me and He talks with me,

And He tells me I am His own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other has ever known

Very early this Saturday morning as I was out walking the dogs... Angel & Poppy, and picking a handful of blueberries to consume right off the bush, I noticed many fully ripe blueberries and thought, at the right moment I would go back and pick some of these fully ripened blueberries before the birds and the bunnies got them.

There's a cute bunny rabbit in their yard that goes and gleans blueberries that it can reach from the ground along with many birds as well (surprising there are any ripe berries as competition is steep!)  So I decided after taking dogs back in, that I was going, this morning to pick the ones that I had spotted that had ripened (it seemed like) overnight.

As I began to pick one area, I could see an area I had missed through the bushes underside.  I would then turn and see five more berries on this little branch, and about the time I thought I'd picked them all, I'd turn around and find another cluster, like grapes, of about five or ten of them! Each time I would pick one or two, I would see another one that was ripe for picking that was right in front of me. Each time I picked blueberries from a branch, I would see more blueberries in the same section I had just finished...it was as if God was ripening blueberries right before me while I was harvesting these blueberries and enjoying doing so!

I felt like the message that God was giving me or God spoke to me this morning was:  As long as I was picking (laboring) to gather in His harvest, God would provide the fruit. I felt He was ripening the fruit as I was picking, or harvesting. There were plenty of green, ripening blueberries so there was plenty there for God to ripen, as long as I was there willing to gather the harvest.  I knew that it was as if God was ripening fruit right before my eyes that were hidden in plain sight.

There were branches that I lifted up and looked under and picked everything  ripe... some semi ripe blueberries as well.  I thought I'd picked every one of the ripe ones, but then I'd walk to the other side and I would see blueberries underneath I had missed. I could see them from the outside... from another vantage point.

As we labor in these final days of His Kingdom's harvest of souls, God will provide laborers among all the green unripened fruit that's out there.  He showed me this morning that he is able to ripen the most unripend fruit. Also that the Holy Spirit is the one that does the drawing and ripening... He just needs laborers. If He just has an available set of hands, and a willing laborer, He will work through and provide the ripened fruit.

Prepare yourselves as a laborer in these final days of God's harvest and God will provide the ripened fruit through His Holy Spirit.   He can and will ripen that fruit, if he has an available, prepared laborer.

SCRIPTURES:

Matthew 9:37 NKJV — Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Matthew 9:38 NKJV — “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Luke 10:2 NKJV — Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Amos 4:7 NKJV — “I also withheld rain from you, When there were still three months to the harvest. I made it rain on one city, I withheld rain from another city. One part was rained upon, And where it did not rain the part withered.

Matthew 13:30 NKJV — ‘Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

John 4:35 NKJV — “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

Revelation 14:15 NKJV — And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

The Parable of the Sower
Luke 8:4And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable:5“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it.6
“Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture.7
“And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.8
“But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
9Then His disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?”10And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that Seeing they may not see,
And hearing they may not understand.’fn
The Parable of the Sower Explained
11“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.12“Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.13“But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.14“Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.15“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
